A tiny menu bar app that keeps your Mac awake — even with the lid closed — while Claude Code, Codex, Ollama or any AI agent runs. Smart NoSleep notices when they finish and lets your Mac sleep again, saving battery and heat.

Made for overnight AI coding runs: stays awake while your agents (Claude Code, Codex, Ollama…) are working, then lets the Mac sleep once they finish — saving battery and heat. You get a notification saying when it slept and what was running. Prefer always-on? Switch to Absolute NoSleep.
Stays awake even with the lid shut — no external display needed.
Press ⌃⌘S anywhere to flip keep-awake on or off, or click the menu bar icon.
Keep awake for 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours, then auto-off.
Native Swift, no Electron. Negligible CPU and memory.
NoSleep is open-source and isn’t signed with a paid Apple certificate, so macOS shows a “can’t verify / malware” warning the first time. That’s normal. On macOS Sequoia the old right-click→Open trick no longer works, so use Terminal (once):
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/NoSleep-Installer-1.1.11.pkgNoSleep-Installer-1.1.11.pkg — it now opens normally.xattr -c ~/Downloads/NoSleep-Installer-1.1.11.pkg instead.
Press ⌃⌘S, or click the menu bar S icon. A line through the S means keep-awake is on.
The first time you keep the lid closed, macOS asks for your password once. After that it’s silent.
Choose “Uninstall NoSleep…” from the menu — it cleans up everything and quits.
